SHOW SYNOPSIS
Based on the beloved comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become one of the most cherished musicals of all time. Winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, this heartwarming classic features a memorable score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin and a book by Thomas Meehan, including iconic songs such as “Tomorrow,” “Maybe,” and “It’s the Hard Knock Life.”
Set in 1930s New York City, Annie tells the inspiring story of a spirited young orphan determined to find the parents who left her behind years earlier. Living under the watchful eye of the harsh and bitter Miss Hannigan at the New York City Orphanage, Annie dreams of a brighter tomorrow and refuses to give up hope.
With courage, optimism, and plenty of charm, Annie escapes into the bustling streets of New York, embarking on a series of unforgettable adventures. Along the way, she encounters colorful characters, outsmarts Miss Hannigan’s schemes, befriends President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and captures the heart of billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his loyal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable dog named Sandy. Filled with laughter, heart, and timeless music, Annie is a joyful celebration of hope, family, and the belief that tomorrow is always just a day away.
